Being a makeup artist and also work at Sterling Bank in Nigeria as a customer support representative is a wonderful skill and vocation respectively. What made you want to do these two different things?

For Oladayo, the answer lies in a desire for completeness. "Honestly, " she explains, "I’ve always been passionate about beauty and creativity, but I also wanted a stable career in a structured environment. Working at Sterling Bank gives me that professional, corporate experience, while makeup allows me to express my creativity and connect with people in a different way. Both sides make me feel complete. ” It's a clear vision of finding fulfillment across seemingly different fields.

I know that all jobs comes with its own ups and down,so what has been the hardest part about trying to manage your makeup work and bank job?

Of course, managing two demanding vocations is no small feat. Oladayo readily admits the biggest hurdle: "The hardest part is definitely time management. Banking is very demanding, and makeup — whether it’s doing clients or creating content — also needs a lot of time and energy. Finding the balance without burning out has been my biggest challenge. ” This struggle is a familiar one for anyone juggling multiple commitments, highlighting the discipline required for such a path.

Have you learned anything from one job that has surprisingly helped you in the other? Can you give a quick example?

Interestingly, Oladayo has found that skills in one area surprisingly helped her abilities in the other. "Yes, definitely!" she affirms. "Working at the bank has really sharpened my communication and customer service skills, and that has helped me a lot when dealing with makeup clients. Knowing how to listen to people and handle different personalities calmly is something I use every day in both jobs. ” This cross-pollination of skills shows that growth comes from diverse experiences.

"You won’t have it all figured out at once, and that’s okay. Prioritize properly, stay consistent, and don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it.
